Our Unique Journey
Rafael Sol is a second-generation coffee grower rooted in the rich soils of Bahia, Brazil. Alongside his wife, Daiane, he leads the family farm, Fazenda Vitoria. Through years of research and experimentation, they realized they had something special that could stand up to all the Robusta cousin coffees in Brazil and all the best Arabica coffees they've tried from around the world. Despite the negative perception of the Conilon bean, the quality of the each harvest of has been validated time and time again. Specialty gradings from the Speciality Coffee Association and being two-time regional champions for "Premio Conilon de Qualidade" or "Best Quality Conilon" are just a couple of the merits. They aimed to transform the perception of the bean and for the past decade, they've sustained a successful coffee business, Cafe Solaris, that partners with local supermarkets and coffee shops to bring their something special to everyone.
As a family-owned business, days on the farm become a routine. The kids look forward to spending time there and showing visitors around their favorite spots. One night, Rafael had a dream that his nephew Lucas would bring Cafe Solaris to the United States. Lucas' interest was peaked, since he always loved spending summers in the hot Bahia sun, picking ripe beans and balancing coffee bags on his head. After years of planning, Rafael's dream has become reality.
Today, Lucas along his wife, Stefani, and his brother, Raphael, along with his partner, Giulia, carry on the Sol family vision of transforming the perception of the Conilon bean in the United States. Sol Coffee proudly ships nationwide including Puerto Rico but has homes in Los Angeles and Miami. Meet the Sol Coffee team at pop-ups in their local communities.
